March 16, 2008: Breakbone's first Casting Call ever!...

We held our "Wanna be a Mudwoman" Casting Call to Action this past Sunday March 16th and had a great turn out of athletic natured dancers. Needless to say we were impressed! After the relaxed and casual audition class, the company chatted about who they considered to be the best candidates to invite into the company. Even before our audition, we invited 2 extra-ordinary dancers into the company. Please welcome company members Ruby Forsman & Danielle Yvonne. They had been taking our classes and expressed an interest in joining the company. We liked them, liked what they had to offer, and loved their talent.

Then from the audition, we invited three dancers into the company: Brat (that is her one name moniker), Emily Olson & Zee Hartman. Brat is a strong dancer and recent Columbia College Dance Graduate who we were impressed by because she has excellent attack on her movements and a refined body intelligence - nothing seems to ruffle her feathers. Emily Olson is a spitfire that has been seen taking our classes and made an impression with her fierceness and fearlessness who is graduting this May from Columbia College. And Zee Hartman, fresh from a cycling accident with a 3" cut on her head, showed us just how rockstar she can be - even after a traumatic event, this compact dancer can kick into high performance energy with a fluidity that reeks of that A-mazing dancerly vocabulary and yet falls with the best of us!
