Danielle Houy was born January 5th, 1984 to an artist father and a dancer mother, artistic expression was in Danielle's blood from the very beginning. She began training as a gymnast and dancer at the young age of 3 and was a level 9 gymnast when an ACL injury forced a premature end to her gymnastic career. She continued training as a dancer at Woodstock Ballet Studio, Without Shoes Modern Dance Company, and went on to study dance at Columbia Arts College in Chicago.
Danielle's diverse training makes her a multi-threat on the dance floor. African, Break dancing, Modern and many genres in between are on her wide palette. She has worked with Margi Cole of The Dance COLEctive on SPN Studentworks at Columbia and also performed in the Arts for Life AIDS benefit. A new member of Breakbone, you are sure to see her talents at the upcoming Devolution of the Mudwoman performance and future Breakbone projects. Currently, Danielle is expanding her teaching knowledge as the Director of Developmental Gymnastics Program for Elite Gymnasts at IGI Gymnastics in Westmont.
Danielle fulfilled a longtime dream when she was asked to become a member of Breakbone DanceCo. Her deep love of music and arts are sure to expand as a member of Breakbone. Keep an eye out for her in the future.
