An NYC bebe with some Island spice, BRAT came to Columbia College Chicago to broaden her dance horizons. Since being here she has had the opportunity to work with Gesel Mason, Blanca Aviles, Cara Sabin, Emily Stein, Bill Young, Atalee Judy, Baraka de Soliel, Kate Insolia, and Curt Flowers. Her newest works The Human Healing Process Interrupted, a movement experiment that comments on society’s suffocation of human emotions, and Homebody, a work that shares cultural and movement background through solo dance form, will both encourage and even demand at times audience participation.

Currently performing in:
Homebody is an original show produced and curated by BRAT to be an evening of modern dance “inspired by the voice of one to spread to the minds of many”. It is a cultural melting pot of movement styles, genres, and ideas designed to get the audience mentally, physically, and vocally involved. Don’t miss a one of a kind evening with percussionists Suzanne Osman and her group Rhythm Unites with fellow choreographers Blanca Aviles, Brat, Emily Haines, and Susan Aldous. For Homebody tickets and information contact LINKS HALL at 773-281-0824, 3435 N. Sheffield Ave., Friday December 19th and Saturday December 20th at 8pm, and Sunday December 21st at 7pm. Reception follows show on Saturday with live music and capeoira performance. Ticket prices: $15 general admission, $10 students and seniors. Get tickets at linkshall.org
